Brooklyn Nets: 66-1
The Brooklyn Nets lost characters from their seat and starting lineup this summer, as they watched Jason Kidd bypass town for Paul and Milwaukee Pierce join the upstart Washington Wizards. Those reductions will change the makeup maybe not, although considerably of Brooklyn for the worse. Kidd is replaced by lionel Hollins, and his seven seasons of head coaching experience must mesh with the Nets’ veteran roster. At the same time, Beckley Mason, in a piece for ESPN.com, raised some interesting questions regarding the standing Hollins built together with the Memphis Grizzlies.
“Is what Tony Allen does really something you can tutor?” he asked. “Is how Marc Gasol moves 7’0″ and 260 lbs to stymie a point protector something anyone can learn?”
We’re going to learn.
We’ll also discover whether Pierce’s generation can be replicated by newcomer import Bojan Bogdanovic . And we see if a large sophomore effort will be led to by Mason Plumlee’s time with Team USA at the FIBA Basketball World Cup Brook Lopez must conquer yet another setback with his surgically repaired foot, and Kevin Garnett must prove he’s got enough juice made to contribute over a couple of minutes per match. But with Deron Williams in the backcourt and Jarrett Jack and Joe Johnson replacing Shaun Livingston Brooklyn remains a squad that is savvy with a reasonable amount of talent though most of it’s nearing its expiry date.
The playoffs are a goal for the Nets, and in the event the 30-year-old Williams can stay healthy along with Lopez, a seed is not from the question.
